We are pleased to share that permanent OPSEU members at Trent University are eligible for tuition waivers for Trent University micro-credential courses. Micro-credentials are short, flexible learning opportunities designed to support professional development, enhance workplace skills, and encourage lifelong learning.
Registration Process for permanent OPSEU staff
OPSEU staff do not register and pay through the normal Marketplace process.
1.Applications must be submitted through the Micro-Credential Staff Waiver Form, available in the myTrent portal under:
Support → Human Resources / Payroll / Waivers → Micro-Credential - Staff
2. If your application is approved, Trent University Human Resources will notify the micro-credential team.
3. The Micro-credential team will review your application and add you to the micro-credential when possible. Enrolment is subject to available space in the course and sufficient processing time, especially for applications submitted close to the course start date.
PLEASE BE AWARE: If your course start day is within 2 weeks you will also need to complete the late application form. This allows the Micro-credential Team to be notified of your request right away and provide support as quickly as possible.

This form is intended for staff members who are submitting a Tuition Waiver Application after the recommended submission timeline or within two (2) weeks of a micro-credential start date. Submission of this form does not guarantee approval of the tuition waiver request. Late applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
