Micro-Credentials for Trent University Staff Members

Advance Your Skills with a Trent University Micro-Credential

Permanent OPSEU and Exempt staff members at Trent University are eligible for tuition waivers on micro-credential courses, making it easier to access flexible, career-focused learning opportunities that support professional growth and lifelong learning.

 

Registration Process for Permanent OPSEU and Exempt Staff

Permanent OPSEU and Exempt staff do not register or pay through the standard Marketplace process.

  1. Submit a Staff Waiver Application
    Complete the Micro-Credential Staff Waiver Form, available in the myTrent portal under:
    Support → Human Resources / Payroll / Waivers → Micro-Credential - Staff
  2. Application Review
    If your application is approved, Human Resources will notify the Micro-Credential team.
  3. Course Enrolment
    The Micro-Credential team will review your application and enrol you in the requested micro-credential, where space is available. Please note that enrolment is subject to course capacity and processing timelines, particularly for applications submitted close to the course start date.

 

Late Tuition Waiver Applications

If the start date of your micro-credential course is less than two weeks away, you must also complete the Late Application Request Form. This form alerts the Micro-Credential team to your request as quickly as possible and helps facilitate timely support.

Please note: This form is intended for staff members who are submitting a tuition waiver application after the recommended submission timeline or within two weeks of a micro-credential start date. Submission of the Late Application Request Form does not guarantee approval of a tuition waiver. All late applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

The Productivity Improvement Lab pathway helps learners develop expertise in systems thinking, business analysis, organizational change, and project implementation. Launched in 2024 in partnership with Canadian Family Health Counselling, the Emotional Health Practitioner Program provides foundational training in Neural Network Therapy® (NNT), a therapeutic approach designed to reprogram the brain for optimal mental health. 

Teaching practical exercises about the brain, interpersonal skill-building, and more, this OSAP-eligible online training program is designed for use in private practice, personal development, group settings, or classrooms of all varieties.
