This interactive micro‑credential will help you gain the confidence to manage familiar situations more independently, understand everyday language more consistently, and express yourself with greater clarity. You will learn to: talk about recent activities and plans with more detail; handle routine interactions with increased confidence; understand short conversations and simple explanations; read and write slightly longer and more coherent texts; broaden your understanding of French‑speaking cultures; use digital tools to support continuous learning.
Course Objectives:
Speaking Skills
Describe daily routines, simple past activities, and upcoming plans with clearer structure and vocabulary.
Participate in slightly longer exchanges on familiar topics such as family, food, shopping, transportation, and basic services.
Improve pronunciation and expand your range of practical expressions to communicate more naturally.
Listening Skills
Understand the main points in short, clear exchanges on familiar, predictable topics.
Follow brief audio/video materials when speakers use simple, moderately paced, and clearly articulated language.
Reading Skills
- Understand short texts, emails, signs, instructions, and simple informational materials related to everyday life.
- Apply basic strategies (identifying key details, recognizing familiar structures) to find essential information.
Writing Skills
Write simple, coherent paragraphs about everyday topics (daily activities, personal preferences, short descriptions, and plans).
Use basic grammar and vocabulary (present tense, near future, simple past references, adjectives, connectors like et, mais, parce que) to express clear and organized ideas.
Cultural & Intercultural Awareness
- Learn about common customs, everyday habits, and social norms in various French‑speaking regions.
- Develop strategies to interact politely and appropriately in familiar intercultural situations.
Digital & Autonomous Learning Skills
- Use online tools and apps to practice vocabulary, listening, pronunciation, and simple communication tasks.
- Apply self‑study strategies such as setting goals, tracking progress, and using digital resources independently.
Course Details:
- Online 6-week course (July 13 – August 21)
- Approximately 2 - 3 hours of online asynchronous instruction/practice per week, with a 1-hour remote conversation weekly 6-7pm every Wednesday with the instructor, plus assignments
Evaluation:
With the completion of all practice modules and the successful completion of all the assessment modules, with a successful completion of 70%, students will have demonstrated that they are capable of properly handling all the situations presented in the modules.

Prerequisites:
Students at any level can take the program. A placement test must be completed.
