This micro-credential course explores the neurobiological basis of common psychological disorders, with a focus on addictions, and examines how health counselling can reshape brain function.

Students will gain an understanding of key brain structures, neurotransmitters, and neural circuits involved in depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and the various types of addictions. This course integrates cutting-edge neuroscience research, brain imaging studies, and real-world clinical applications to show how health counselling influences neuroplasticity, cognition, and emotional regulation.
This course bridges neuroscience and clinical practice, offering a deeper appreciation of how health counselling can literally rewire the brain.
