Emotional Health Practitioner

Launched in 2024 in partnership with Canadian Family Health Counselling, the Emotional Health Practitioner Program provides foundational training in Neural Network Therapy® (NNT), a structured coaching and psychoeducational approach designed to support personal development and skill-building.

This OSAP-eligible online program offers practical exercises on brain function, interpersonal skills, and behavioral strategies.

It is intended for those looking to develop skills and build resources in the field of emotional health care, whether that is a personal goal to enhance your well-being toolkit or a professional goal to make a career change and begin a private practice. 

Please Note: If you are looking to become a licensed psychotherapist or psychologist professional you may be interested in Trent’s degree in psychology.

Course Objectives:

  • Learn foundational principles of Neural Network Therapy® as a coaching and psychoeducational framework.
  • Explore practical exercises for skill-building in areas such as emotional awareness, habit formation, and interpersonal communication.
  • Develop strategies to engage participants in an active, hands-on learning format.
  • Enhance interpersonal and professional skills, including assertiveness, conflict resolution, and creative problem-solving.
  • Acquire resources to support personal development or educational programming.

How much do the programs cost?

Asynchronous: $1597

Practice Builder (with Asynchronous included): $3997

Internship (with Asynchronous included): $4997

Neurobiology of the Helping Profession & Neuroscience of Addiction: $350 virtual/$375 in person (includes lunch)

When are the start dates?

Asynchronous: Students can start any time and study anywhere over an 11-week period.

Practice Builder: September 2025 - April 2026, with 22 live 1-hour online classes on Wednesday evenings from 6-7pm E.T.

Neurobiology of the Helping Profession & Neuroscience of Addiction: September 2025, 11-week synchronous classes online, Wednesday evenings from 6-7 pm E.T.

Who is providing the training?

All training and supervision are delivered by Canadian Family Health Counselling staff.

Do I have to sign up to all the courses?

Students may register for any course. Please note that all courses list the Asynchronous stream as a prerequisite.

Note that the Practice Builder program includes the EHP Asynchronous curriculum, as well as training to equip graduates with the basic practical skills necessary to run a private practice successfully.

How are the courses delivered?

All programs are delivered online. Students can study independently for the Asynchronous stream, while the other programs offer live online instruction.

How many hours do the courses take to complete?

Asynchronous: approximately 12 hours 

Practice Builder: approximately 34 hours
