In just 6 weeks, this interactive micro‑credential will help you communicate with more ease, understand familiar language more reliably, and express yourself more clearly in routine situations. You will learn to: talk about recent activities and simple future plans; handle slightly more detailed everyday interactions; understand familiar messages and short conversations; read and write slightly longer and better‑connected texts; expand your awareness of French‑speaking cultures; use digital tools to support independent learning.

Course Objectives:

Speaking Skills

  • Describe daily activities, simple past events, and upcoming plans with clearer and more structured language.

  • Engage in brief conversations on familiar topics such as family, routines, food, shopping, and simple travel needs.

  • Improve pronunciation and use a broader range of basic expressions to be more easily understood.

Listening Skills

  • Understand the essential information in short, clear exchanges on familiar topics.

  • Follow brief audio/video materials when speakers use simple, slow, and clearly articulated language.

Reading Skills

  • Understand short texts, messages, menus, basic instructions, and simple informational materials.
  • Apply basic strategies (recognizing key words, scanning for details) to locate important information.

Writing Skills

  • Write short connected sentences and simple paragraphs about familiar topics (daily life, preferences, plans).

  • Use basic grammar and vocabulary (present tense, near future, adjectives, connectors like et, mais) to express clear ideas.

Cultural & Intercultural Awareness

  • Learn about basic customs, social norms, and everyday practices in different French‑speaking regions.
  • Develop simple strategies to interact politely and appropriately in familiar intercultural contexts.

Digital & Autonomous Learning Skills

  • Use selected online tools and apps to practice vocabulary, listening, and pronunciation.
  • Apply simple self‑study strategies such as goal‑setting and tracking progress.

Course Details:

  • Online 6-week course (June 1 – July 10)
  • Approximately 2-3 hours of online asynchronous instruction/practice per week, with a 1-hour remote conversation 6-7 PM every Wednesday with the instructor, plus assignments
