Step 1

Initial Proposal developed by Dean for in-principle approval by PPG

Step 2

Striking of a Working Group by Dean(s); Deans announce at Decanal Councils that a new degree program is being developed

Step 3

Development of Full Proposal by Working Group following broad consultation

Step 4

Dean(s) signs off on Full Proposal; Senate and Faculty Board informed proposal for new degree program is being considered by Senate committees

Step 5

Full Proposal to USC/GSC to check for consistency with university degree regulations and for approval of any new courses 
External reviewer(s) selected

Step 6

AP&P reviews Full Proposal; confirms ready for external review

Step 7

Desk audit or site visit occurs; external reviewers submit report

Step 8

Working Group prepares response to the External Reviewers’ Report 
Dean writes Letter of Support for proposal

Step 9

AP&P reviews Full Proposal, External Reviewers’ Report, Working Group’s response, Dean’s Letter of Support 
AP&P makes recommendation

Step 10

Full Proposal to Faculty Board for Information 
Full Proposal to Senate for Approval

Step 11

Submission to Quality Council 
Submission to MTCU (as required)          

Step 12

Dean submits Monitoring Report to AP&P
