Student Support Certificate

About

The Student Support Certificate is a series of workshops geared toward academic and non-academic staff who have direct contact with students.  These courses aim to enhance the capacity of Trent faculty and staff members to effectively assist students in a variety of situations, and to help create a supportive environment that builds students’ life skills and ability to cope with a range of issues.

Below you will find information regarding workshop content, date, time, location, and how to register. Kindly be aware that the registration deadline for all workshops is set 48 hours, or two business days, prior to the scheduled event. Please confirm with your manager that your attendance will not negatively impact departmental operations prior to registering. Zoom links for workshops held online are shared and emailed out through the Eventbrite registration.

A: All Trent staff and faculty.

Q: I've completed the program! When/How do I receive my certificate?

A: At the end of each semester, certificates are sent to the print shop, followed by a 1-2 week period for signing by the Vice President of Student Affairs. We thank you for your patience during this process - we're just as excited for you to receive it! Congratulations and thank you for your dedication and commitment in supporting your students.

Q: When is the schedule released?

A: The program offers workshops 3x per year during the Fall and Winter semesters and again over the summer. We do our best to release the schedule in conjunction with HR within the first month of each period. The workshops can be found on this page, HR's Professional Development webpage, and on the MyTrent Events calendar. Workshops are based on facilitator capacity and availability and may vary.
