OSAP, Out of Province, & Work Study
Many students need some form of financial assistance in order to achieve their academic goals. Our financial aid team will work with you to find ways to help you with the costs of your university education.
In addition to scholarships, there are several options available.
*2020/21 OSAP* CERB/CESB Info
If you received CERB or CESB payments, this has to be reported to OSAP as income just like any other income. We want to ensure that you are reporting this correctly. Failing to report your income correctly could possibly result in an OSAP restriction. To report your CERB/CESB:
- Use the OSAP Change of Information Form on the myTrent portal, under the FINANCES tab
- In the “Changes to your Income” section please check off “CERB or CESB”.
- Under “Specify new value and description of funds” please tell us the total amount of income you received/expect to receive from all sources (employment, CERB/CESB).

Summer OSAP information can be found on the Summer OSAP page: https://www.trentu.ca/studentfinances/summer-osap
Out of Province Student Assistance
No matter where you’re coming from in Canada, we can help you access the funding you’re eligible for.
Part-Time Jobs & Trent Work Study Program
Many students find work on or off-campus while attending Trent. TWSP provides funding for part-time jobs on campus for students who are receiving OSAP, student aid from another province, or funding through the Post-Secondary Student Support Program (PSSSP).
Scholarships & OSAP
Please note: All In-course, Entrance, and Renewable scholarships awarded by Trent University will be reported to OSAP. Please do not include this information when applying for OSAP as it will be reported twice and may reduce your overall funding amount. If you have reported your scholarship to OSAP in error, please let the Financial Aid office know by completing an OSAP Change of Information form on the myTrent portal.
