OSAP, Out of Province, & Work Study
Many students need some form of financial assistance in order to achieve their academic goals. Our financial aid team will work with you to find ways to help you with the costs of your university education.
In addition to scholarships, there are several options available.
Ontario Student Assistance Program
With a single application, you could be eligible to receive an interest-free loan, or non-repayable grants with the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). Find out more and apply online: ontario.ca/OSAP
Summer OSAP information can be found on the Summer OSAP page: https://www.trentu.ca/studentfinances/summer-osap
Out of Province Student Assistance
No matter where you’re coming from in Canada, we can help you access the funding you’re eligible for.
Part-Time Jobs & Trent Work Study Program
Many students find work on or off-campus while attending Trent. TWSP provides funding for part-time jobs on campus for students who are receiving OSAP, student aid from another province, or funding through the Post-Secondary Student Support Program (PSSSP).
Scholarships & OSAP
Please note: All In-course, Entrance, and Renewable scholarships awarded by Trent University will be reported to OSAP. Please do not include this information when applying for OSAP as it will be reported twice and may reduce your overall funding amount. If you have reported your scholarship to OSAP in error, please let the Financial Aid office know by completing an OSAP Change of Information form on the myTrent portal.
Graduate Studies & OSAP
As a graduate student you are eligible to receive OSAP funding. Our office strongly encourages you to apply for fall/winter and then complete an OSAP Change of Information form on the myTrent portal for the summer term. This would give you the ability to receive a disbursement for Fall/Winter and then Summer as well. For more information about OSAP as a graduate student please see the following PDF document: OSAP for Graduate Students
