Out on Campus

What is Out on Campus?

Out on Campus is a weekly drop-in for Trent University students who identify as part of the 2S/LGBTQIA+ community, are questioning their sexuality, gender identity, and/or in the process of coming out.

This student led program is led by upper year, queer peers who provide a welcoming, affirming space for students to support each other through shared experiences, find community and build relationships. Students are encouraged to share only what they feel comfortable with, and conversations are confidential. We offer snacks, arts and crafts, and host activites like Queeraoke and Tarot nights.

As much as we appreciate our allies, Out on Campus meetings are for queer/questioning students only.

2026-2027 Meetings will be held in The Seasoned Spoon in Champlain College.  Dates and Times TBD

Queer Events Calendar

2S/LGBTQIA+ are posted on the Student Experience Portal at trentu.ca/sep or @outoncampus on Instagram

If you wish to have your queer positive community featured in our calendar send us an email outoncampus@trentu.ca

More Resources

An ongoing list of online queer resources for queer people and their allies including Trent's name change form, resources in the Peterborough community, healthcare at Trent, career resource for trans and non-binary folks and more.

Resource Guide

We also offer a comprehensive guide to 2SLGBTQ+ terminology. This was last updated January 2021 and is by no means a definitive guide but rather a starting point for allies and queer students.
