Documentation Style by Discipline
In this department, the documentation style depends on the type of assignment. Refer to the course syllabus or assignment instructions for the appropriate style.
If a specific style is not required, we recommend the following:
- For literature essays, particularly those that focus on few texts, MLA style is preferable.
- For papers that refer to a large number of secondary sources, the Chicago footnoting method may be more appropriate.
