Space for students who self-identify as 2SLGBTQ+, Indigenous, Black, racialized, mature, or first in family at university, or who have a disability can experience extensive barriers accessing, staying in, and completing postsecondary education. Email: youbelonghere@trentu.ca

The Circle 

A space which reflects our commitment to providing a culturally safe, comfortable, and accountable space where students can build community, feel empowered, celebrate their lived experiences, and honor the diverse cultures and heritages present on our campus.. Located on the second floor of The Student Centre. Multi-Faith Room 

The Trent Multi-Faith Network (MFN), operated by the Office of Student Affairs, is a collaboration between Trent University and volunteers from various faith traditions and groups within the community, who provide spiritual and religious support to Trent students. 

Trent University African and Caribbean Student Union (TACSU)

TACSU is a student group under the Trent International Students’ Association (TISA). The group’s main focus is to provide students within Trent (Canadian and International Students alike) with exposure to the cultures of Africa and the Caribbean. 

Trent Arab Student Association (TASA)

A club that is a safe space for Arab and non-Arab students to feel respected, communicate freely, and participate openly across the organization.

Trent Black Student Support (BSS) 

A joint initiative of Student Affairs and the Centre for Human Rights and Equity (CHREA), Black Student Support hosts special events and a weekly supportive discussion group for Black Trent students. Email: blackstudentsupport@trentu.ca 

Trent University Chinese Student Association (TUCSA)

We exist to create opportunities for those part of our Chinese student community and those interested in learning more about Chinese culture to gather and build long lasting friendships.

South Asian Association at Trent (SAAT)

Culturally Responsive Substance Use Program 

SAPACCY (Substance Abuse Program for African Canadian and Caribbean Youth) 

African and Caribbean Canadian youth under 25 years-old, who are dealing with problem substance use and mental health concerns.  Self-referral accepted through Access CAMH, call 416-535-8501 press 2:  

 

BIPOC Community Resources 

Black Lives Matter Peterborough-Nogojiwanong 

A community group aims to strengthen and grow the BIPOC community in Peterborough-Nogojiwanong, providing mutual aid and promoting understanding. 

Canadian Race Relations 

A non-profit organization committed to promoting positive race relations in Peterborough through community-based advocacy, collaborations and education. BIPOC Peer support program for those that identify as Queer, Trans, Non-binary, and Women to meet, chat, and give/receive support. 

New Canadian Centre 

New Canadians Centre Peterborough (NCC) is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to supporting immigrants, refugees and other newcomers in the City of Kawartha Lakes, Haliburton County, City and County of Peterborough and Northumberland County.
