Bicameral Governance

Trent University has a bicameral system of governance. The authority and responsibilities of our two governing bodies, the Board of Governors and the Senate, are delineated in the Trent Act. Both governing bodies are supported by the University Secretariat.

The Board of Governors is responsible for oversight of the government, conduct, management and control of the University and its property, revenues, expenditures, business and affairs.

Description

Senate plays a vital role in the academic governance of the University, responsible for reviewing policies, approving programs, and ensuring that the academic mission of the institution is upheld.
