The Office of the Vice-President & Head, Trent University Durham GTA provides leadership for the continued growth, development, and success of Trent’s Durham campus.
As Trent Durham continues to expand its academic offerings, deepen community partnerships, and serve a growing and diverse student population in the eastern Greater Toronto Area, the office supports the campus’s role as a distinctive and connected part of Trent’s dual-campus university.
Working closely with the President, senior leadership, faculty, staff, students, and regional partners, the Vice-President & Head helps guide campus planning, academic and operational priorities, community engagement, and the student experience at Trent Durham.

Meet Glenn Craney
Glenn Craney is Vice-President & Head of Trent University Durham GTA, where he provides executive leadership for the campus’s next phase of growth, development, and community engagement.
An accomplished postsecondary and public-sector leader, Glenn brings more than 25 years of experience in university and college leadership, institutional planning, enrolment management, facilities development, government relations, and strategic partnerships. Before joining Trent, he served as Vice-President, Planning & Strategy at Humber Polytechnic, where he led planning, enrolment, facilities, and operations across multiple campuses.
Glenn previously served as Deputy Provost and Chief Strategy Officer at Toronto Metropolitan University, where he helped lead major institutional strategies, including TMU’s Brampton strategy and the development of the first new medical school in the Greater Toronto Area in more than a century. He also played a key role in international strategy and transnational campus development.
Earlier in his career, Glenn served as Assistant Deputy Minister with Ontario’s Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development and as founding Executive Director of the Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer. His experience across postsecondary education, government, planning, and partnerships supports Trent Durham’s continued evolution as a growing, community-connected campus in the eastern GTA.
