New Employee Orientation & Networking
Various departments from across campus have worked together to create an accessible, creative and informative online orientation for all new employees to access. All employees are invited to complete this training by logging in to their MyTrent Account using their employee username and password, then launch the Blackboard Learning System Application. Alongside the Online Employee Orientation, in-person networking opportunities will be held each semester for all new employees to provide an opportunity to meet other colleagues, develop a greater connection with the Trent community, and go on a guided tour of the campus.

- First Wednesday of the month - Symons Seminar Series for Graduate Research - student-led symposium sees graduate students in the humanities and the science present their research and try to find connections between the disciplines
- Every year, the College sponsors a Traill Visiting Fellow who lives in college, participates in student life and offers public lectures.
- Trent University’s Continuing Education Program - adult education courses to the larger Peterborough community
- Team Trend hockey tournament - the second-longest alumni – over 40 years

Events and Traditions
- Float your boat - a fundraiser for the Peterborough Aids Research Network. Students put teams together to raise as much money as they can. Teams then gather to make a ‘boat’ out of recyclable materials and proceed to race their boat down a portion of the Otonabee River
- Floor Hockey Tournaments - Twice per year in the great hall
- Harvest Weekend - first weekends of October - Harvest has a plethora of events including Pig Bowl (Football Tournament) and a Free Dinner for Champlain students
- Milk Run – Teams toboggan down the drumlin with a pitcher of milk
- Earn your Stripes - In November, the college presents college scarves to First Year students who are successful in their academics, and to those who are actively engaged in college life through programs, activities, or life in residence
- Celebration of Excellence - an academic based reception that honours all students in the Champlain community that have received an 80% GPA from their courses from the previous academic year
- Campus Rec Teams
- Bon Temps Weekend – January - During the weekend there is a college wide Broomball tournament and Free Dinner
- Canoe Trip – Fall reading break – Backcountry trip, all equipment, transportation and meals provided

- Second College on the Symons Campus
- Founded in 1968
- Named after Lady Flora Eaton (Florence McCrae)
- Community that bursts with the spirit of Gemutlich (a warm, friendly place where you feel comfortable at home and surrounded by friends)
- Was established as an all-female college however an exception was made right off the bat with 40 men being accommodated in the residence
- College only became officially co-ed in 1972
- Designed by Ron Thom
- Designed to add to the view of the drumlin and not to obscure it
- Much of the furniture is hand made
- Granted the Coat of Arms Honor in 1989
College Motto: Sapientia et Humanitas, striving for wisdom and humanity in all that we do.

Each year the activities of the weekends change based on the planning of the cabinet and college office
- Seeley Women in leadership Luncheon - celebrate female leadership within Lady Eaton College and the Trent community. This event takes place on International Women’s Day each year and typically includes a keynote speaker who is Lady Eaton College Alumna, as well as a luncheon.
- Art Auction - art is displayed for two consecutive days in the Pit where students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to stop in to appreciate the talent and bid on any art pieces that appeal to them. All funds raised are returned in full to the artists.
- Scarf Ceremony: scarf ceremony takes place during Orientation Week.
- Honors Reception - Students who have achieved an 80% average or higher are invited to this event to celebrate their academic accomplishments

- Trent’s fifth College.
- Founded in 1972
- Otonabee means river that beats like a heart
- The name was referred Professor Kenneth Kidd (Anthropology)
- Designed by Macy Dubois
- During the 20th anniversary it was decided that a crest was needed for the college and on the celebration of the 25th anniversary the first crest was unveiled
- The author of the motto is unknown however it is a perfect Latin hexameter not quoted until the early 17th century
- Adopted the river otter at the Peterborough zoo
- There is a family of groundhogs whose life can be followed on Instagram

- Chili Cook-off – a longstanding tradition, which is a remembrance of Bruce Shearer. This event is hosted during the second week of November as a fundraiser for United Way
- East vs West Hockey Game - each team is comprised of 17 East Bank students and 17 West Bank Students (15 players + 2 goalies). Proceeds from this event are donated to a local charity
- Trent Mudder - Trent wide obstacle course based off the popular event “Tough Mudder”. Its goal was to reach out to students and get them active during a stressful time of year (March) when the workload begins to pile up and one usually forgets to set some time aside to get out and be active
