Why Hire Trent Co-op Students:

  • Flexible 4, 8, or 12-month work terms
  • Students are strong critical thinkers, adaptable communicators, and workplace professionals
  • Support during busy periods and with special projects
  • Opportunity to build your future talent pipeline
  • Federal wage subsidies and provincial tax credits to support your business
  • Guidance from the Co-op Team throughout the recruitment and work term process

Undergraduate co-op programs consist of students alternating between full-time academic study terms at Trent and full-time paid work terms at a host employer. Work terms must be fully paid, 4, 8, or 12-month opportunities (depending on the program’s work term schedule) that are full-time at 35 hours/week.

Graduate co-op programs consist of students completing their academic studies and ending on their 4-month full-time, paid work term.

Opportunities can be in-person, hybrid, or remote. Co-op is meant to simulate the real-world recruitment process. Employers will have the opportunity to post their positions with us, invite students to interview, and extend an offer to their preferred candidate.

Co-op students follow set work term schedules and different programs have different work term schedules. For example, our students in the Computer Science Co-op Program will be out on a work term this coming winter (Jan-Apr 2027).
