OSAP is released the first week of classes for each semester
We suggest all applications and documents be submitted by July 31st so that there is no delay in your fall funding. *Documents may take up to 6 weeks to be reviewed. Please check your OSAP and be aware of document submission deadlines. |
Many students need some form of financial assistance in order to achieve their academic goals. Our financial aid team will work with you to find ways to help you with the costs of your university education.
In addition to scholarships, there are several options available.
Ontario Student Assistance Program
With a single application, you could be eligible to receive an interest-free loan, or non-repayable grants with the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). Find out more and apply online: ontario.ca/OSAP
Out of Province Student Assistance
No matter where you’re coming from in Canada, we can help you access the funding you’re eligible for.
Part-Time Jobs & Trent Work Study Program
Many students find work on or off-campus while attending Trent. TWSP provides funding for part-time jobs on campus for students who are receiving OSAP, student aid from another province, or funding through the Post-Secondary Student Support Program (PSSSP).
Scholarships & OSAP (Undergraduate)
Please note: All In-course, Entrance, and Renewable scholarships awarded by Trent University will be reported to OSAP. Please do not include this information when applying for OSAP as it will be reported twice and may reduce your overall funding amount. If you have reported your scholarship to OSAP in error, please let the Financial Aid office know by completing an OSAP Change of Information form on the myTrent portal.
Graduate Studies & OSAP
As a graduate student you are eligible to receive OSAP funding. Graduate OSAP funding is a separate application each term and funding is released each term. Please see our page for more details and instructions: OSAP - Graduate Studies.
OSAP Eligibility for Postgraduate Certificates
Please note that not all postgraduate certificate programs qualify for OSAP funding. Students are encouraged to verify their program’s eligibility prior to submitting an application.
The following postgraduate certificates are eligible for OSAP:
- Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management
- Postgraduate Certificate in Marketing & Entrepreneurship
