Peer Health Educators
Who We Are
We are a diverse team of students, like you, aimed at building a healthier, happier and more inclusive student community. Our mission is to encourage students to come together to foster personal growth and community well-being.
What We Do
Engage the campus community in activities that encourage resilience and the capacity to maintain wellbeing
Provide interactive programming and information to reduce stigma around mental health
Facilitate prevention initiatives focused on reducing the impact of stress, providing social supports and encouraging self-care practices
Creation of a virtual resource platform
Partner with community-based organizations to provide dynamic opportunities to learn new information and practice new skills
*Peer Health Educators are supervised by Counselling Services
Initiatives
Our past initiatives have included a therapy dog program, art therapy workshops, mental health workshops, free yoga and suicide alertness training.
This year we are focusing on providing online resources, online interactive workshops in collaboration with our community partners and regular resilience building workshops.
As we move forward, we welcome suggestions and requests for workshops and peer health topics to compliment our planned programming.
