Requesting Access to Buildings & Rooms

Information on access to buildings and rooms is governed by the Trent University can be found in the Access Control Policy.

After Hours Access to Science Buildings

Students, Staff, Faculty and Employees

Access to the Science Buildings after hours is managed by our office. Your Trent ID card us used for this purpose as a proximity card. If you need after hours access to the Science Buildings (ESB, CSB, SC, DNA and LHS) have your supervisor email angelasikma@trentu.ca the following information:

  1.  Your full name
  2. Buildings and rooms where access is requested
  3. Your Building/office location
  4. The Trent University student/staff ID number(from the front of the card.
  5. The 5 digit number following the  * from the back of your campus card.
  6. The length of time required for access.

Under normal circumstances you will only be granted after hours access to the Science Buildings where you will be working.

Access to individual rooms and labs is at the discretion of the supervisor (Designated Authority) of those rooms. Please contact them directly for keys or keypad codes.

Volunteers, Co-op students and non employees

Volunteers and co-op students who require after hours access requires an email from their supervisor authorizing them access to labs after hours within the building being requested. As they do not have a Trent ID card, a temporary access card will be issued to them.

Note: Volunteers and co-op students should be supervised at all times and thus after hours access should be an infrequent requirement.

Access to DNA A Block requires an Access Card at all times.

Door Keys

Supervisors are normally the Designated Authority for their spaces and can order keys through the »Access Control Policy Key Request Form on their own.
