Things to remember as you transition back to working on campus

There are many things to remember as you transition back to working on campus. Although this is not an exhaustive list, we want everyone to remember a few things to help support your transition back to campus:

  1. As previously indicated, the transition to full operations has not been an overnight process. We are now in the final phase of the return to full on-campus operations. While many staff have been gradually transitioning back to on-campus work, all university staff and faculty that have continued to work remotely will be asked to gradually return to on-campus operations with the intention for all employees to return to work on campus by April 18, 2022.
  2. With transition comes change, and with change, some may experience feelings of anxiety, stress, and unease. We want to recognize this is normal and we will find ways to adapt to these changes in a positive way.
  3. It is okay to feel uncomfortable with the recent changes to social norms. Everyone reacts to change differently and it can take time to accept and feel comfortable with “normal" social interactions. Ease yourself back to “normal” routines to help reduce stress and anxiety.
  4. It is important to check in with how you are feeling, stay well informed by reading the available resources, continue to have conversations with your manager, and reach out when you need support.
  5. Revisit Trent’s vision and mission and remember what we value, including the traditional teachings of the First Nations, to help us move forward in an optimistic way.
  6. Review Trent’s updated COVID-19 Education Module on myTrent, to stay educated and informed on important health & safety information.
  7. Review the return to campus support resources put together by Human Resources to further help in the transition back to campus.
  8. Remember, everyone's safety is our responsibility. Proper hand hygiene, wearing a mask, and getting vaccinated are proven ways to reduce the spread of infection.
