Athletics & Recreation
Trent Athletics & Recreation is committed to creating a safe, accessible and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome. Graduate students have access to athletics facilities, fitness classes, and recreation programming.
Peterborough Campus
- Graduate students studying at the Peterborough Symons Campus will have a membership to the Athletics Centre included as part of your student fees.
- Features of our state-of-the-art Athletics Centre include a fully equipped cardio loft and weight room overlooking the Otonabee River, indoor climbing wall, indoor rowing tank, pool, and squash courts.
Durham Campus
- Trent Durham graduate students have a membership to all City of Oshawa recreation facilities, including the Civic Recreational Complex, right next door.
- Facilities include fitness equipment, indoor soccer stadium, pool, aerobics studio, indoor track, and tennis, squash and badminton courts.

Student Affairs
Student Affairs at the Peterborough campus is the co-ordination point for a range of departments that provide services to students on campus. These services include personal counseling, residence and food services, a student health clinic, student accessibility services, and spiritual affairs. All students are invited to participate on committees that make recommendations to Student Affairs for operation of these service areas each year.
Student Affairs Durham provides personal appointments for counselling, accessibility services, academic advising, careers and academic skills for students at the Durham GTA campus. They also offer workshops on a variety of topics for students, and provide general support in areas such as transition help, intramural and extramural sports, gym memberships, leadership programming and general student life activities.

Health Services
Trent Student Health Services is a team of caring, dedicated, multi-disciplinary professionals with expertise in university health issues. As part of the Student Wellness Centre, they support a diverse student population through the provision of confidential primary health care, health promotion, disease prevention, and wellness education. Student Health Services is an appointment based medical clinic for all registered part-time and full-time students at Trent's Symons Campus.
The University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) is a mandatory health plan for all international non-residents studying or working at a participating university or affiliated college in Ontario. The UHIP fee for registered international students is automatically included in the start term registration fee each year with Trent University. UHIP provides coverage to eligible members and their dependents (spouse and children) on health services, such as visits to physicians, hospitals, diagnostic testing, medical emergency, and transportation on ambulance within the Province of Ontario.
The Health & Dental Benefit Plan is provided by the Trent Central Students’ Association (TCSA) and provides insurance coverage of non-UHIP services such as dental care, prescription medication, and vision coverage.

Campus Safety
Campus Safety is dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, faculty and visitors that recognizes and is respectful of the diverse nature of the Trent community.
Students can access personal safety resources, inquire about lost and found items or make a report about safety concerns, incidents or suspicious individuals on the Campus Safety website. The TrentU Safety App is also available to download, empowering your safety and well-being while on campus.

Trent University's Health and Safety program provides a safe environment for all who use Trent's facilities. They offer a broad range of environmental, health, and safety initiatives and services that ensures both the well-being of everyone on campus, as well as compliance with the Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
