Indigenous Performance

Take to the stage or take on an important backstage role, with this new specialization in Indigenous theatre. Through experiential courses in Indigenous dance, storytelling, theatre, and music, you’ll develop an understanding of the significance of oral histories and the intergenerational transmission of knowledge.

Courses

Students who have fulfilled the requirements for a single- or joint-major degree in Indigenous Environmental Studies/Sciences may graduate with a Specialization in Indigenous Performance if they have successfully completed the following 4.0 credits:

• INDG 3025H: Storying the Land
• INDG 3030H: Indigenous Dance Theatre
• INDG 3060H: Theatre for Indigenous Communities
• INDG 3105Y: Indigenous Orality
• INDG 3180H: Rotinonhsion:ni (Iroquois) Songs and Dances
• Or a practicum course (INDG 3861H or 3862H) focused on performance or theatre
