Student Life: Get Involved

Make friends and memories for life

At Trent University, academics are just the beginning of your university experience. Outside the lecture hall, Trent’s diverse, close-knit community makes it easy to get involved, meet new people and make a positive impact – on and off campus.

  • EXPAND your social circle by joining a campus club or group

  • ENHANCE your resumé by building your co-curricular record

  • DRIVE positive change by becoming a student leader

There’s no limit to your potential at Trent.

Orientation for New Students

Before you arrive on campus and after you’ve settled in, we’re with you every step of the way. Trent’s new student orientation programs are designed to prepare you for your new educational journey. Get a head start at our Summer Orientation, and don’t miss out on Orientation Week before classes kick off in September.

Starting in winter, summer, or fall? We offer a series of support programs to make your transition to Trent straightforward and easy, no matter when you start.

Explore Student Government

Trent Central Student Association (TCSA) in Peterborough and Trent Durham Student Association (TDSA) provide a variety of pivotal services for students, by students. Our student unions help students share ideas and create change while also providing access to health and dental insurance and club sponsorship.

Stand Out from the Crowd: Co-Curricular Record

If you’ve taken the time to get involved, volunteer, and develop skills outside the classroom, showing your efforts to potential employers is a great way to get your foot in the door. Trent’s co-curricular record acts as an official “transcript,” tracking all of your non-academic activities and accomplishments while at Trent. It includes student leadership, awards, workshops, clubs, groups, and much more. Learn more about how to get involved on campus.

Learn to Lead

Trent offers a wide range of skill building opportunities that help prepare you for a variety of leadership roles in your community and beyond. Become a peer mentor, orientation leader, or sign up for one of Trent’s leadership certificate programs.
