International Student: Already Applied
Body

With many decisions on your horizon, choosing Trent was a great place to start.

Need to make changes to your application?

  • If you applied using the OUAC undergraduate application, any changes to your application must be made through your OUAC account.
  • If you applied using a Trent direct application, email us at admissions@trentu.ca with changes that need to be done to your application.

Next Steps

The following step-by-step instructions will help you navigate through the admission process.

Component
One Column Items

Title
Step 1

Description

Know Your Trent Identification Number

  • You will receive an email from Trent University confirming receipt of your application including your Trent Identification Number (7 digit number starting with “0”). Please use this number every time you correspond with us.
  • Please allow 3-5 business days for your application to be processed at Trent University.

Step 2

Description

Activate and Monitor Your MyTrent Account

  • Activate your MyTrent account through this link.
  • Review Academics, Admissions section of your MyTrent. All information related to your admission will be available there.
  • Monitor your MyTrent on a regular basis.

Title
Step 3

Description

Submit required documents

  • Review “Required Document” icon for documents you need to submit for admission consideration. You may also wish to review the document submission requirements specific to your curriculum.
  • Submit required documents through the appropriate Upload Forms available on your MyTrent portal. Documents received this way will be considered unofficial and may be used for conditional offers only. Official documents will be required if you receive an offer and decide to enroll at Trent University.
    OR
  • Request your school/institution email your transcript to admissions@trentu.ca or release it external electronic portals (i.e., Parchment).
  • Review Deadlines for submission of documents and completion of your application*:
  • Please note that once you submit your in-progress documents, your file will be reviewed. You will always see a request remaining for "Final Official Transcript" if your studies are still in-progress. This does not mean that your application is on hold; it means that if you receive a conditional offer of admission, we will require the final, official transcript directly from your school when your studies are complete.

These are recommended timelines for completing an admission application as follows*:

Intake Deadline
Winter (January) November 1
Spring (April, ESL only) February 1
Summer (degree) March 1
Summer (June, ESL only) April 1
Fall (September) July 1

*Fall term programs may have earlier deadlines. Submit documents by February 15.

If you are applying for admission on the basis of completion of high school, then we would normally require an official high school transcript, including your senior year mid-year and/or predicted, final (if applicable) grades. When on-line verification of final results is available, we will verify your final results on-line.

If you are applying for admission on the basis of post-secondary institution(s), then we would still require an official final high school transcript PLUS an official post-secondary transcript with most recently completed courses/grades. In some cases, we may also require WES (World Education Services) evaluation to proceed with an admission assessment.

At this admission stage, we will review your qualifications for transfer credits eligibility and update your MyTrent portal with our initial assessment. If eligible, the actual transfer credit assessment will take place once you have been admitted, accepted our admission offer, submitted an official final transcript and course syllabus.

For students applying for Post-Graduate Certificate programs, an official university transcript and confirmation of a Bachelor degree completion is required.

Step 4

Description

Monitor your MyTrent for a decision

  • Our processing and decision making times vary depending on the month (normally, 2-4 weeks).
  • For most of our programs, admission decisions are released on a rolling basis – it means that as soon as we have received the required documentation to make an admission decision, it will be released and you will be notified.

Title
Step 5

Description

Received an Admission Offer?

  • Once an admission decision has been made, it will be reflected on MyTrent under “Admissions Status”.
  • If you received an offer, your admission letters will be issued within 3-5 business days. They will be emailed to the address provided on the application form as well as posted to MyTrent, under “Email History” icon from where they can be downloaded in pdf. format.
  • We issue electronic copies of admission letters only.

Congratulations on receiving an admission offer!  Review your Next steps under “Received an Offer”.
