COVID Leave transaction codes have been added to VIP. In accordance with the Worker Income Protection Benefit, the new codes will allow the University to better track time off for employees that would not typically have the paid time off. The new codes should be used in the below situations:
NEW: Transaction Code: 2080 COVID Leave Paid – Reg/Rec
NEW: Transaction Code: 2085 COVID Leave Paid - Contract
Transaction Code: 2000 Request for Sick Time
NEW: Transaction Code: 2080 COVID Leave Paid – Reg/Rec
Regular/Recurring OPSEU/Exempt Employees

Asymptomatic (not sick themselves), but have been advised to self-isolate due to COVID-19

Providing care or support to an immediate household member for COVID-19 related reasons, including school/daycare absences or closures

Going to get vaccinated

Experiencing a side effect from a COVID-19 vaccination
Contract OPSEU, Exempt, Research, Other and Student Employees

Regular/Recurring OPSEU/Exempt Employees

Employees on a temporary contract but normally hold a regular/recurring position, should use the Reg/Rec code 2080
Contract OPSEU, Exempt, Research, Other and Student Employees

Maximum of 10 paid days per calendar year

Employee is unable to work due to any illness themselves, including if they have COVID-19 or COVID related symptoms
