Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Business Solutions

Course Overview 

Develop practical AI skills that can help improve productivity, decision-making, marketing, and business operations. 

This online micro-credential is designed to equip participants with practical AI skills that prepare them for high-impact roles across a variety of industries. Rather than focusing on programming or developing AI systems, this course teaches learners how to effectively use AI tools to optimize workplace processes and solve business challenges.  

 

Course Details

Format: Online 

Duration: 6 weeks 

Start Date: October 13, 2026 

Weekly Commitment: Approximately 3 hours per week 

  • 2 hours of asynchronous online learning
  • 1 hour live online session (Thursdays, 6:00 to 7:00pm) 

Cost: $495

Learning Outcomes 

By the end of this course, participants will be able to: 

  • Explain fundamental AI concepts and technologies
  • Understand AI regulations and compliance considerations
  • Apply AI tools to strategies for business development, marketing, and productivity
  • Use AI to support problem-solving
  • Evaluate and select appropriate AI platforms and software

Assessment Requirements 

To earn the micro-credential, participants must successfully complete: 

Module Quizzes 

  • Online quizzes for each module
  • Multiple attempts permitted 

Practical Assignments 

  • Assignment 1: Using AI to introduce yourself
  • Assignment 2: Using AI to solve a problem, documenting how you did it, and its impact 

Badge Requirements 

Participants must achieve a minimum score of 75% on the module quizzes and two assignments to earn the digital badge. 

 

Admission Requirements 

Prerequisites 

Applicants should have either: 

  • Experience through fourth-year business-related coursework, including marketing, business, or business tools courses; or
  • Relevant professional experience in marketing or business 

Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Docs, and Canva is beneficial, but not required. 

 

Tax Receipt Information 

Students may be eligible to receive a T2202 Tuition and Enrolment Certificate if their micro-credential meets Canada Revenue Agency requirements. 

To qualify, students must meet the following criteria: 

  • Be enrolled in a qualifying educational program that provides at least 12 hours of instruction within a calendar month.
  • Pay a minimum course fee of $150.
  • Not receive a grant, reimbursement, benefit, or allowance for the program from an arm’s length party that would make the program ineligible under CRA guidelines. 

 

Earn a Digital Badge 

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a verified digital badge that can be shared on LinkedIn, resumes, portfolios, and professional profiles.
