Full-time positions, field placements and co-ops among career opportunities available at virtual expo series for students

Students at Trent Durham

A variety of employment and experiential learning opportunities will be on offer for Trent students and recent grads through the Career + Experiences Expo series, hosted by Careerspace at Trent University.

The Career + Experiences Expo series will take place weekly from January 26 to February 17, with industry-specific sessions tailored to fields of study, including health science and wellness, community and public services, business and technology, and natural resources and the environment. The connections made during the online events can lead to internships, placements, summer jobs, and careers post-graduation for students.

"We are pleased to be able to connect employers with Trent students and alumni who are looking to engage in meaningful experiential learning and to take the next big step in their careers,” said Kevin Whitmore, director of Careerspace at Trent. "This is an opportunity to showcase our student talent, as well as provide an opportunity for students to build their relationships with a number of local, regional, national and international organizations."

To help prepare students for the upcoming expo, Trent University’s Careerspace will be providing Career + Experiences Expo prep workshops to help students prepare their resumes, cover letters, and interview skills. Many employers are attending the Expo with available positions and are actively seeking candidates, providing Trent students with the opportunity to be hired on the day they attend.

Highlights of the 2022 Career + Experiences Expo series include:

  • Chat one-on-one with recruiters from over 100 companies that are actively hiring for full-time summer jobs and post-graduation employment, as well as internships and co-op placements
  • Network with organizations from a variety of industries
  • Explore opportunities available in your field through sector-specific events, including health sciences and wellness, community and public services, business and technology, and natural resources and environmental programs
