Making Connections

Students sitting on the steps by the Otonabee River, chatting and looking at a book.

Transfer students sometimes feel like a fish out of water. Everyone else seems to know where they're going and they've already formed friend groups. That may be the case for some, but the truth is many (if not all) students feel a little lost at some point during their time at university. Whether it’s friendships or services you seek, check out the resources below to help your transition to Trent go smoothly:

Events & Activities

  • Orientation: Trent offers orientation programming in the summer, fall, and winter for mature and transfer students. Mature and transfer students are also welcome to attend any and all orientation programming for all new students.
  • Study Café for Mature and Transfer Students: A weekly gathering for mature and transfer undergraduate students who seek community as well as dedicated time and space for academic development.
  • Trent Event Listings: Trent is a vibrant place with many events taking place each week. Some events will be advertised on social media or the Student Experience Portal, but the Event Calendar in myTrent and on the website is a reliable place to find event information.
