Each year, we are proud to host a series of Distinguished Visiting Teaching Scholars. These award-winning faculty, including Canadian Research Chairs and 3M national award winners bridge research and practice in order to infuse new ideas and energy into teaching across the University and develop Trent faculty’s capacity to study their own teaching practices.

The TTC has compiled resources on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and research ethics as part of our Teaching and Learning Resource Hub.

The TTC is proud to host a SoTL Symposium every two years. This event features SoTL research from Trent faculty and SoTL scholars across Canada.

he Trent Teaching Commons is pleased to offer the opportunity for Trent faculty to engage in a SoTL-focused retreat in June. Stay tuned for information and applications for our 2027 SoTL retreat.

The TTC is home to several SoTL Communities of Practice. These communities bring together SoTL scholars within and outside of Trent. 

Trauma-Informed Pedagogy (TIP) is a key component of TTC professional development opportunities. Our unit also engages in TIP research and supports a trauma-informed Community of Practice. 

The TTC is happy to provide resources for learning more about SoTL and consultations on individual SoTL projects.
