2026 SoTL Summer Camp
The Trent Teaching Commons is pleased to be able to offer an opportunity for Trent faculty to engage in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning next summer! Our “summer camp” will take place between June 22 to 24, 2026 at Elmhirst's Resort in Keene, ON. The retreat will include:
- Guest speakers on topics in SoTL research
- Group seminars and collaborative working time
- Time for independent work
- Project consultations with the SoTL Coordinator
We will also have time for leisure and opportunities to explore the resort property. Potential activities include hiking, biking, canoeing, swimming, and taking part in group games like an escape maze. Meals and shared accommodations will be provided for our “campers”.
*Please note that each camper will have their own bedroom within shared cottages. Cottage rooming assignments will be decided by the Trent Teaching Commons based on need and availability.*
We invite applications from Trent faculty across departments and disciplines. As spots are limited, priority will be given to faculty who have not previously attended.
If you are interested, please apply to Devon Stillwell (devonstillwell@trentu.ca) and include the following:
1. Proposed plan for the retreat (2-3 pages) including:
- The project you’d like to work on
- What you hope to learn at the retreat
- Areas of interest in SoTL
- If you would be willing to facilitate a small group session
- Relevant SoTL experience
2. A CV highlighting work specifically related to teaching and SoTL engagement
Applications will be accepted until November 30th, 2025.
