Trent University to Welcome over 1200 Visitors to March Preview Open House

Showcase of Symons Campus includes sample lectures, campus tours, academic and student services fairs

Trent University will welcome visitors, students, friends and families to its March Open House at the Peterborough Symons campus on Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

“This is a great opportunity for prospective students and applicants to speak one-on-one with our internationally renowned faculty, and to find out more about over 50 degree programs and specializations that we offer in the arts, science and professional programs," said Dr. Steven E. Franklin, Trent University president and vice-chancellor. "Trent's Open House offers a glimpse into how we approach academic excellence and introduces students to the Trent Experience.”

Prospective students and applicants will have opportunities to join campus tours, sit in on mini lectures, speak directly with professors and current students about programs and courses, and to learn about Trent’s exceptional student services.

Open House Highlights:

  • Mini Lectures:  Take in a memorable lecture on today’s hottest topics. See what it feels like to be a Trent student.
  • Information Sessions: Sit in on important sessions such as Funding Your Education, School of Education, School of Nursing, Studying
  • Abroad or Housing.
  • Campus Tours: Sign-up for one of many guided tours of residences, labs and science facilities, the Crime Scene House or the Trent-Fleming School of Nursing Skills Lab.

Throughout the day, information sessions and displays will be available for academic programs and the Departments of Financial Aid, Athletics & Recreation, Residence & Housing, Academic Skills Centre, Student Affairs, Disability Services, Career Centre, Counselling Services, Indigenous Student Services, Health Services, International and Study Abroad Programs, and Campus Security.
