Mike Lavallée, B.A., ICD.D.
Mike Lavallée is a recognized expert and sought-after speaker in Canada’s seniors housing sector, with more than 20 years of experience advancing quality of care and quality of life for older adults.
Lavallée previously served as chief executive officer of Seasons Retirement Communities, where he played a foundational role in launching the organization’s operating platform and brand. Under his leadership as CEO, Seasons expanded significantly, integrating new assets and growing into one of Canada’s top seniors housing providers. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at Chartwell Retirement Residences, including vice-president of operations, and began his career as a long-term care residence general manager with Jarlette Health Services.
An advocate for strong leadership and governance, Lavallée is the author of Connect, Care, Change: A Roadmap to Authentic Leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bishop’s University and the ICD.D designation. He is past chair of the Ontario Retirement Communities Association (ORCA), a current director with the Alberta Seniors Communities and Housing Association (ASCHA), and a recipient of ORCA’s Donna Holwell Legacy Award (2023). He was also recognized among the Top 100 Healthcare Leaders by the International Forum on Advancements in Healthcare in 2019.
Lavallée joined the Trent University Board of Governors in 2021, contributing across key governance portfolios. Reappointed to a second three-year term in 2025, he served as vice-chair before being appointed chair of the Board of Governors for a two-year term as of July 1, 2026.
