The Office of the Vice-President, Finance & Administration provides leadership for Trent University’s financial, administrative, operational, and campus planning priorities. The portfolio supports the University’s long-term sustainability by providing strategic oversight for fiscal management, facilities, information technology, student housing and conference services, food services, athletics operations, and major campus projects. Working closely with the President, senior leadership, the Board of Governors, campus partners, and external organizations, the Office of the Vice-President, Finance & Administration helps guide the systems, services, and resources that support Trent’s students, faculty, staff, and communities. About Tariq
Tariq Al-idrissi is the Vice President of Finance and Administration at Trent University. As a member of Trent University's senior executive leadership team, he is responsible for providing fiscal and administrative leadership and management. He has responsibility for the University's overall fiscal management and coordination of large campus projects. Tariq liaises on behalf of the University with regional governments, various ministries, the Council of Ontario Universities (COU), the Council of Senior Administrative Officers (CSAO), and the Canadian Association of University Business Officers (CAUBO).
He has held various senior positions in higher education in the last twenty-five years and holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree and a Master of Science in Management Degree. In addition to his role at Trent, Tariq has served as; a member of the Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace (OECM) Customer Council, a member of the CUCCIO Cybersecurity Benchmarking Committee, a member of the CANARIE CIO Advisory Group, the Chair of the Canadian University Council of Chief Information Officers (CUCCIO), a member of the Compute Canada Cybersecurity Task Force and as Chair of the Ontario University Council of Chief Information Officers (OUCCIO).
