Summary:
Smoking at Trent University is governed by the University's Smoke-Free policy, which can be found in the University’s policy library
Smoking at the University is only permitted in the following Designated Smoking Areas:
- At the entrance to G Lot (west side)
- East of N Lot
- North of Otonabee College Residence (west of DNA / LHS)
- Traill College (between Kerr House and Scott House)
- East of the Gzowski College turning circle
- LEC Annex (north-east corner)
- Champlain Annex (south-west corner)
- Traill Annex (north side)
Each area is identified by a Designated Smoking Area sign.
Smoking tobacco or cannabis using electronic cigarettes (vaping) is prohibited in the following areas:
- University buildings
- Within 9m of doors, windows, and the air intakes of building ventilation systems
- University vehicles
- Sports fields and within 20m of a sports field
- Playgrounds and within 20m of a playground
Note: There are no Designated Smoking Areas on the Trent Durham GTA campus. Smoking and vaping are prohibited on Trent Durham GTA property.
