Accessibility Shuttle – East Bank
To support accessible travel on East Bank during construction of Gidigaa Migizi College and the new Otonabee College residence, Trent will operate an Accessibility Shuttle between Gzowski College and the DNA Building beginning September 7 for the fall term.
The service is intended for students, faculty and staff with registered mobility assistance needs. Health and Safety is coordinating the shuttle service for all registered users in collaboration with Student Accessibility Services (SAS) and other University departments.
Register for the Accessibility Shuttle
Students: Contact Student Accessibility Services at sas@trentu.ca to register for the service.
Faculty and staff: Submit an accessibility accommodation request to Health and Safety at healthandsafety@trentu.ca to arrange access to the service.
Registered users will receive priority when using the shuttle. Individuals who have not yet registered will not be turned away by the driver but will be directed to the appropriate office to register for ongoing service.
Shuttle Stops
The shuttle travels between two designated accessible pick-up and drop-off locations:
- Gzowski College: Bus loop
- DNA Building: Doors to A/B Block
Fall Shuttle Schedule
The Accessibility Shuttle operates Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Departing Gzowski College: Every 30 minutes on the hour and half-hour, beginning at 8:00 a.m. (8:00 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., etc.)
Departing DNA Building: Every 30 minutes at :15 and :45 past the hour, beginning at 8:15 a.m.
(8:15 a.m., 8:45 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 9:45 a.m., etc.)
Accessible transportation required outside the shuttle’s 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. operating hours will be supported through an accessible van arrangement with Capitol Taxi.
About the Shuttle
The shuttle is a grey Trent University-branded Promaster 2500, operated by trained drivers and equipped with a mechanized rear lift. Drivers will receive the registration list coordinated by Health and Safety to help ensure registered users receive priority access.
