OVERVIEW
Dr. Jie Zhang received her Ph.D. in Finance from Concordia University, Montreal. Her research interests lie in empirical corporate finance, financial institutions, and investments. She particularly focuses on corporate misconduct, bank misconduct, capital structure, corporate cross-listing, the impact of natural disasters, artificial intelligence, mergers and acquisitions, and the role of social media in financial markets.
Her research has been published in journals such as The British Accounting Review, Information & Management, Accounting & Finance, International Review of Finance, and Finance Research Letters, among others. She frequently collaborates with international scholars and has presented her work at major academic finance conferences. Dr. Zhang also serves as a reviewer for several leading journals, including The British Accounting Review, Journal of Business Ethics, International Review of Financial Analysis, Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, Journal of Futures Markets, Finance Research Letters, and Economic Modelling, among others.
Her work has been featured in interviews with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and the New York Post and has been disseminated through major media outlets such as The Conversation, Yahoo Finance, and MSN (U.S. and Canada).
Dr. Zhang actively supervises AMOD thesis students and serves as an Associate Editor of the Investment Analysts Journal.
