See our online guides for the course registration process, which are broken into four steps. In particular you may find the First Year Course Suggestions by Major page helpful in determining what required courses you should take for your program in first year.
If you follow these steps to make your plan, you should be all set for course selection. If you would like some help navigating some of the tools on myTrent, we have trained, upper-year student staff in the College Offices who are available to support by calling 705-748-1488 Monday-Friday between 9:00am and 4:00pm EST.
Please note that the deadline to add or change courses for the fall term is Wednesday, January 20, 2025.

How many appointments can I have in one week?
Students may book a maximum of one appointment per week. Exceptions may be made based on the Academic Advisor’s discretion and appointment availability.
How do I cancel an appointment?
If a student cannot make an appointment, it is important to cancel it in order to free that time for someone else. Students should use the online booking system (Student Experience Portal) to cancel an appointment at least 2 hours before it is scheduled to begin, email academicadvising@trentu.ca, or call 705-748-1011 ext. 7333 during office hours.
No Show Policy
We understand that things come up and might get in the way of attending a previously booked appointment with an Academic Advisor. If you do not show up for two appointments with Academic Advising, you will no longer be permitted to book your own appointment on the online booking system. If you have reached this booking limit, please call the advising phone line 705-748-1488 for assistance with booking.
We ask that you take the time to contact us to let us know if you can no longer attend, so that the Academic Advisor can offer the opportunity to another student in need of an appointment.
