Where is Peterborough?
Peterborough is located in the Kawartha area of central Ontario, Canada. We are approximately 1.5 hours north east of Canada's largest city, the Ontario's provincial capital, Toronto.
What is it like to study in Peterborough?
Peterborough is a mid-sized city with around 80,000 residents. The city is very student friendly with a large number of restaurants, cafes, clubs, and pubs where students can go to unwind after a long day of class. The city is also a nature-lover's dream as its location in the Kawartha region provides ready access to a abundant natural beauty and hiking opportunities.
Where can I find information about pre-arrival, packing and registering for orientation?
All the information you need to know about what you are responsible for prior to your arrival, how to register for orientation, and details about packing will be sent by email once you have been accepted to Trent.

Academics
How do I access learning accommodations?
At Trent Academic Accommodation is called "Student Accessibility Services" - also known as "SAS."
To get registered with SAS please follow the instructions provided in this link: https://www.trentu.ca/wellness/accessibility/how-register-sas
We recommend that you get this process started as soon as you are able, as it can be long and requires lots of documentation. Please direct any questions regarding SAS to sas@trentu.ca.
Health Services
How can I access non-emergency health care while at Trent?
If you are new to Trent Student Health Services, you must first complete an online registration before booking an appointment.
To book an appointment, during office hours, call 705-748-1481 and speak to our medical office assistants. You cannot walk-in to book an appointment. A few types of appointments can also be booked online.
Appointments cannot be made by leaving a voicemail message or via email.
When making an appointment, you will be asked for:
- Your University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) number
- Your first and last name
- Your student number
- Your current telephone number
- The reason for your visit
