Schuyler shared valuable insights about life in Canada and the media landscape, inspiring the students with her passion for creating impactful content.

Dr. Kirsten Francescone, assistant professor in International Development Studies, explores how global inequality impedes economic growth, particularly in developing countries. She stresses the significance of addressing global inequality for achieving sustainable and equitable economic growth. Professor Francescone advocates for policies such as progressive taxation, social welfare programs, and labour protections to promote greater income equality. 

Memoir shares fascinating life story of Founding chair of Trent Sociology program  

Bernard Blishen (1919-2017), the founding chair of Trent University's Sociology program and widely known as the creator of the "Blishen Scale" - the socio-economic index of Canadian occupations instrumental in developing Canada’s medicare program, had a distinguished career that earned him the Order of Canada in 2011. His recently published memoir, Wild Strawberries Along the Mackenzie, vividly recounts his childhood marked by hardship and adventure, and journey from farm worker to celebrated academic and social historian.

A trip to the Canada Winter Games in PEI was golden for Trent Kinesiology student Amelia Gagne. Competing in the women’s recurve portion of the archery competition on behalf of Ontario, Amelia demonstrated her exceptional skills and unwavering determination, overcoming challenging opponents and emerging the victor.
