Trent International
Trent International supports the Trent community to raise national and international visibility & reputation; leverages institutional strengths through partnerships; promotes and supports student mobility; facilitates international and intercultural knowledge, skills, and awareness to live and work effectively in a global environment; provides language and academic skills instruction; contributes to the global classroom and provides international support services. - Retention & Disposal: Student records with visa and scholarship information (retained for 5 years inactive). Study abroad student transcripts (kept indefinitely) Proof of UHIP records (retained for 3 years for CWB and 1 year for Sun Life) Group Wise
- Lists: Name, email, phone for students (updated on an ongoing basis) Resource and historical records: Departmental resource and historical filing (retained on a need basis).
English as a Second Language (ESL) Program Records
- Legal Authority: Trent University Act 1963
- Information Maintained: Completed registration forms for all new ESL students, payment information, application-related correspondence, names, country of origin, DOB, student number, class marks, test scores, notes on meetings with students, attendance records, copies of completed Placement (writing only) and Promotion Tests.
- Individuals in Bank: New and returning ESL students
- Uses: Preparation of statistical reports, program management and support
- Users: Trent International office staff, Trent-ESL staff
- Retention & Disposal: Names, country of origin, date of birth, student number, grades, and attendance records kept indefinitely; Placement (writing only) and Promotion Tests kept one term and then shredded; assignments and tests shredded one week after the end of term; all other information shredded/deleted upon completion of ESL program.
