How do I transfer to Trent?
To transfer to Trent as an international student, apply to your desired program(s) through Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) or the Trent Applicant Portal. If you are applying to multiple universities in Ontario, you should apply through OUAC. If you are only applying to Trent University, you should apply directly through the Trent Applicant Portal.
The credits you’ve already earned will automatically be considered for transfer eligibility once you’ve applied.

If your program is part of an existing transfer pathway, you can use our Transfer Pathways Tool to see which transfer credits you would receive by transferring to Trent, as well as admissions requirements specific to your institution and program.

Can I still transfer to Trent if my school does not have a transfer agreement or partnership with Trent?
Yes, you can apply to Trent as a transfer student from any institution in the world. If your institution does not have a transfer agreement with Trent, we will assess your credits on an individual basis.

Is there an additional fee for applying to Trent as a transfer student?
When applying to Trent through OUAC or the Trent Applicant Portal, you will be charged the standard application fee, even if you are transferring from another institution. There is no additional fee or application to apply to Trent as a transfer student.

If you are applying to multiple universities in Ontario, you should apply through OUAC.
If you are only applying to Trent University, you should apply directly through the Trent Applicant Portal.

How long does it take to have my credits reviewed for transfer eligibility?
The standard processing time for transfer credit eligibility is five weeks, but this may be quicker if you are applying to transfer from a partner institution or program that has already been reviewed by Trent.

Do I need to provide additional documents to support my application to Trent as a transfer student?
In addition to the standard application documents required as part of your application to Trent, we may request copies of your course syllabi to assess the transfer credit eligibility of all your previously completed courses.
We recommend gathering the syllabi for every course you completed at your current institution and being prepared to provide them to Trent if requested. You do not need to submit these unless you are asked to provide them.

Is there a limit to how many credits I can have transferred?
Some programs at Trent have limits on the number of credits that can be transferred from another institution. Depending on the transfer eligibility of your credits and your program of study, you may be eligible to earn up to half of your Trent degree in transfer credits.
