Renewing your Entrance Scholarship
Our Entrance Scholarships can be renewed at the beginning of each new academic year during your undergraduate program. The Entrance Scholarship changes to an In-Course Scholarship after your first year at Trent.
The In-Course Scholarship is the renewable portion of the Entrance Scholarship and requires an application each year through your Trent Applicant Portal. Please review eligibility criteria for renewal on the Scholarships and Bursaries for Current International Students page.
Students who do not qualify for the Entrance Scholarship in their first year may qualify for the In-Course Scholarship after the end of their first year if they meet the eligibility criteria each year.

How and when are Entrance Scholarship offers made?
Entrance Scholarship amounts are determined based on the Canadian equivalent of your high school average used for admission consideration. Students will receive the entrance scholarship amount directly in their Trent Applicant Portal account statement close to the beginning of their first academic term.
Please note that all the above scholarship values, eligibility requirements, and criteria are subject to change without notice. Entrance Scholarships can be paired with Trent International’s Prestigious Renewable Scholarships. All eligible students are strongly encouraged to apply for these renewable awards to receive a larger total scholarship package.

Title
In-course Scholarship Value
Students who receive a Trent Entrance Scholarship are eligible for an In-Course Scholarship in future years of their undergraduate studies at Trent, based on academic performance.
If you improve your term average during their time at Trent, you may move up to a higher scholarship tier. If your average drops, your In-Course Scholarship may be downgraded to a lower tier.

Changing Your In-Course Scholarship Value
Upgrade Example:
A student who enters Trent with an 80% high school average (Tier 4) receives a $2,500 Entrance Scholarship. After their first year, if their Trent average rises to 86% (Tier 3), they become eligible for a $3,500 In-Course Scholarship for their second year.
Downgrade Example:
A student with a 90% high school average (Tier 2) receives a $4,500 Entrance Scholarship. If their average at Trent drops to 88% (Tier 3) after their first year, their In-Course Scholarship will be reduced to $3,500 in their second year.
Please keep in mind:
- Your In-Course Scholarship tier is re-evaluated annually based on your most recent academic performance.
- You can upgrade to a higher tier in any upper year if your term average improves.
