Our team of International Student Advisors is dedicated to helping you navigate your experience as an international student at Trent, and can support you in the following areas:
- Canadian immigration topics for study permit holders, including:
- Entry documents
- Study permit applications and conditions
- Working conditions in Canada
- Academics as it relates to your immigration status, including:
- Course registration, withdrawing from a course, or taking a leave from studies.
- The importance of remaining a full-time student and the implications of changing to part-time.
- Changes in your academic journey that may impact your immigration status.
- How to navigate academic difficulties such as academic probation or suspension.
Book an appointment with an International Student Advisor
Advising is available Monday to Friday by appointment. Appointments can be booked up to two weeks in advance.
To book an appointment with an International Student Advisor:
- Login to the Student Experience Portal.
- Select “Peterborough/Durham Campus Appointment Bookings” on the left-hand menu.
- Select “Trent International”.
- Select "Book by Appointment Type".
- Select either "Academic Advising" or "Immigration Advising" depending on the purpose of your appointment.
- Select an appointment block and fill in the required information.
If you do not see any appointments available, this means that all time slots have already been booked. New appointments will open each business day at 9 a.m. ET. If an appointment is cancelled, that time slot will become available again for booking.

Trent University’s International Student Advisors are Regulated International Student Immigration Advisors (RISIAs) and cannot advise on permanent residence or citizenship, fill out immigration application forms on a student’s behalf, or represent students. For these services, you will require a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC).
