Jazmine Raine is currently an interdisciplinary PhD student at Trent and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies from Trent University, as well as a Master's degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. Throughout their institutional career at Trent, Jazmine has provided insight on numerous committees such as the Research Ethics Board, Graduate Studies Committee, Cyclical Program Review Committee, and the Teaching and Learning Advisory Committee.
Jazmine continues to spread their knowledge and passion for an inclusive and supportive academic environment as the current President of the Trent Graduate Student Association (TGSA), formerly serving as the Equity Commissioner on the TGSA for 2 years. Jazmine is a member of the Trent Center for Aging and Society and a Teaching Assistant in the Gender and Social Justice Department.
In addition to Jazmine's contributions to the academic and student experience at Trent University, they have been recognized for their academic excellence through numerous awards, including the Ontario Graduate Scholarhsip (2021-2024), Social Sciences Research and Humanities Council Graduate Scholarship Award (2024-2027), and the Governor General's Gold Medal from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Jazmine has been appointed for a two-year term on the Trent University Board of Governors effective July 1, 2025.
