Options for Hiring a Student

We offer three dynamic options for hiring a Trent Business or Economics student: co-ops, internships, and placements, each designed to connect your organization with talented, motivated students ready to contribute.

Co-ops

Co-op is a structured program where students alternate between academic study and full-time, paid work terms. Work terms are 4 months in length, and some are consecutive, creating 8-month terms. Trent School of Business offers four co-op streams: Business, Accounting, Economics, and Accounting & Economics. Each program allows students to gain hands-on experience in their field while contributing meaningfully to real-world projects.

Internships

Internships are full-time, paid work experiences for fourth-year students, lasting 6, 8, 12, or 16 months. They provide employers with access to emerging talent who apply academic knowledge to practical projects in fields such as accounting, marketing, human resources, finance, and management.

Placements

Placements are part-time work experiences for fourth-year business students, lasting a minimum of 100 hours over a term. Placement opportunities may be paid or unpaid. Students engage in meaningful tasks and projects with local organizations, applying course knowledge while developing professional skills and networks.
