First Year Course Suggestions by Major

This is a list of majors and introductory course suggestions. Click on your chosen major or a major that interests you to see a summary of the first-year course requirements and the number of electives you should be planning.

Within some programs students have the choice to add a specialization (listed under the Program section of the Academic Calendar). Students are encouraged to check the required courses and pre-requisites if they are considering adding a specialization. A full list of Specializations and Options can be found on pages 521-544 of the Academic Calendar.

Remember that your University Degree and Academic Program requirements are located in the Academic Calendar.

Students must take at least 0.5 credit from the Approved Indigenous Course List (see p. 19 in Academic Calendar). It is recommended that you take this credit in your first year of studies. Visit the Course Selection page to learn more about elective credits, how to determine what course load to take, and more.
