How do I create an in-text citation in CSE Vancouver/Citation-Name style?
Article in a Scholarly Journal
Reference number. Author(s). Article Title. Journal title. Date;volume(issue):location.
Example 1:
Single author, journal title - one word
1. Schaefer JA. Towards maturation of the population concept. Oikos. 2006;112(1):236-240.
Example 2:
Multiple authors, journal title – more than one word
Note:
- Abbreviate significant words in a journal title and omit other words such as articles and prepositions; capitalize all abbreviated words. Sources for abbreviated titles include: List of Journals Indexed for MEDLINE published by the National Library of Medicine and BIOSIS Serial Sources by Biological Abstracts. If the journal title consists of one word, then no abbreviation is necessary e.g. Oikos.
- When there are 2 to 10 authors, list them all, including the 10th author. If there are more than 10 authors, list the first 10 followed by et al.
