Dr. Bilal Momani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Trent University’s Durham GTA campus. His research and teaching focus on applied artificial intelligence, with particular expertise in computer vision, image processing, smart city applications, and Internet of Things (IoT) systems.
Professor Momani brings extensive industry and applied research experience to his academic work. Prior to joining Trent, he held faculty positions in applied technology and worked in senior research and development roles in both Canada and internationally, including with Cisco Systems in Ireland and the United States, and as a senior researcher with the Telecommunications Software and Systems Group (TSSG) in Ireland. He has also held a senior postdoctoral position at University College Cork.
His research emphasizes the practical application of AI and computing technologies to real-world challenges, often through collaborative projects that bridge academia and industry. Prof. Momani holds a BSc in Computer Science, an MSc in Telecommunications and Distribution Systems, and a PhD in Computer Science.
