Residence is reopening on Monday, January 5 at 11:00 A.M. Only students who submitted their Winter Early Arrival application by December 7 at 11:59 PM will be permitted to move-in on January 4, 2026. For all other students, the earliest move-in is January 5 at 11:00 A.M.
Moving in to your residence is an exciting time, and the Student Housing team is here to make the move-in process simple so you can get settled quickly.

Before you arrive
Step 1
Read the Residence Guidebook and the Residence Agreement: 2025-2026 Residence Guidebook.
Step 2
You may pick up your keys on Monday, January 5 11:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. or Tuesday, January 6 and Wednesday, January 7 between 8:00 A.M. and 10:00 P.M.
If you are moving into Gzowski College or Otonabee College, please pick up your keys from Service Centre East located in Gzowski College (ENW212).
If you are moving into Champlain College, Lady Eaton Eaton College or Traill College or Traill Annex; please pick your keys up from Service Centre West in Lady Eaton College (LEC211).
If you are moving into Champlain Annex, Lady Eaton Annex or Gzowski Annex; please pick your keys up from Service Centre South in Lady Eaton Annex (EANX109).
If you are moving into Durham Residence, please pick your keys up from Durham Service Centre located in the main Residence Building on the second floor.
**Important: You must notify Student Housing via email (residence@trentu.ca) if you plan to arrive after January 7, otherwise, your room may be reassigned to another student.
Step 3
At all the Service Centres, you will find friendly and helpful students and staff waiting to welcome you, hand out your keys, and answer any questions you might have about moving in.
Early Arrival Requests
Residence is reopening on Monday, January 5 at 11:00 A.M. If you require an early move in of Sunday, January 4 2026, this option will be available to select on your Residence Application until December 14. If you have already submitted your application, you will be able to update your application to reflect this request. You must update your application by December 14 at 11:59 P.M. EST, no late requests will be considered. If you applied and are approved you can return to campus as early as Sunday, January 4 at 12:00 P.M. The nightly fee of $43.90/night will be charged to your student account.
