Mail & Packages
We provide mail and package service for students living in residence. Last year we processed over 10,000 packages! Students are provided a mailbox key to access their mail from their assigned mailbox (students in double, triple or suites share mailboxes). Mail is distributed Monday to Friday, except on holidays.
For packages larger than the size of your mailbox a package delivery notice will be sent to your TrentU email address advising you of where and when to pick it up. Please have your photo ID ready!

Work Orders
If you notice any facilities concerns in your building, residence community, or residence room, complete a Residence Maintenance Request Form through the Housing Portal. Work orders are processed Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4 pm. If your matter is of an urgent nature, contact your Residence Life Don or Campus Security.
Laundry
Laundry facilities are available to students in each residence free of charge. Students are responsible for providing their own detergent and laundry softener. Need help to figure out how to do laundry for the first time? Chat with your Residence Life Don.
Caretaking Services
Caretaking Services are provided in the public residence areas Monday through Friday. Students are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of their personal space (bedroom, and bathroom for Gzowski students, the full apartment for apartment style residences).
Fridge Rentals
Looking to keep your snacks and drinks cool this year? Cool news – students can choose between two approved rental options. A medium bar fridge or a micro-fridge through Coldex, Trent’s approved vendor.
Important: Residence students are not permitted to bring personal refrigerators, freezers, or microwaves into residence buildings. All fridges and micro-fridges must be rented through Coldex to ensure they are clean, energy-efficient, in good working order, and support a safe, healthy, and sustainable living environment.
What’s included:
- New this year. The micro-fridge with integrated microwave and small freezer section (3-in-1 combo: fridge, freezer, microwave). With safety features including SafePlug® technology and an internal smoke sensor
- Delivery directly to your room before or during move-in
- Servicing during the year, if needed
- Pick-up at the end of the year or when you move out
Guidelines:
- Only one Micro-Fridge per bedroom is allowed - double rooms included.
- Apartment and suite units have a full-sized refrigerator in the common kitchen
- Traditional-style residences have shared kitchen facilities on each floor, including a full-sized fridge
Sharing with a roommate?
- Coordinate with your roommate to share the cost. Use the Student Housing Portal to message roommates and confirm their commitment
- Only one person should book and pay for the micro-fridge through Coldex. Review the rental agreement carefully — it is a contract with Coldex, not Trent University
- Arrange reimbursement between roommates before arriving on campus (e.g., e-transfer)
- Set expectations for sharing and cleaning in your Roommate Agreement, and avoid overloading the micro-fridge until space is agreed upon
- At the end of the year, make sure the micro-fridge is emptied and cleaned to avoid extra charges
During Move-In Weekend:
Coldex delivers and picks up your rented micro-fridge. If you bring a personal refrigerator, it will not be allowed to be unloaded, and you will be asked to send it home.
Thanks for helping us maintain a safe, comfortable, and sustainable residence environment while making your move-in as smooth as possible. To book your fridge, please follow this link: coldexrents.com/school/trent
