Program

Trent and the Environment

Trent is renowned for its focus on environmental issues.  This program provides a solid background in both chemistry and environmental science.  You will be prepared to handle challenging environmental problems from a multidisciplinary perspective.

Program Choices

The Environmental Chemistry degree is a single-major degree, which may be taken as a 4-year (Honours, 20 credits total) or 3-year (General, 15 credits total) Program.

Both Programs include many specific required courses.  While this leaves less room for electives, it focuses a student’s attention on the important information and skills needed to be successful in this field.  This Program requires more technical knowledge than most, knowledge of chemistry, an understanding of the operating principles of various analytical instruments, and development of skills in how to use those instruments. Courses in chemistry, math, and environmental science are all part of this degree’s curriculum.
